The Membership and Development Committee will be responsible for the recruitment of membership, sponsorship, and other fundraising activities.

Betty Burke, NANOG

Betty Burke is the Executive Director of NANOG.

Paul Ebersman, Infoblox

Paul Ebersman has been involved with NANOG to varying degrees since the late 90s and has been working with TCP/IP networks since the mid 80s.

Paul currently works in the Infoblox IPv6 Center of Excellence as a technical resource, both internally and to the internet community. He first worked on the internet for the Air Force in 1984. He was employee number 10 at UUNET and helped build AlterNET and the modem network used by MSN, AOL and Earthlink. He has maintained his roots in the internet and the open source community, working for various internet infrastructure companies including ISC and Nominum before coming to Infoblox.

Term ends October 2013.

 

Gina Haspilaire, Pacnet Services (USA) Inc.

Gina Haspilaire has been an active member of NANOG since 2008 and is a member of the Development Committee since April 2011. Her background is from the Telecom Services sector where she is presently Pacnet’s (leading Asia Pacific privately held subsea cable operator) Vice President for North America. She joined Pacnet in 2002 just prior to its transition from Asia Global Crossing to Asia Netcom.

Before joining Pacnet, Gina was a Principal in the executive search business of Heidrick & Struggles. She began her career at AT&T as a UNIX “C” programmer and spent 14 years there in various technical, sales, and management positions. In the early 1990’s she served as one of AT&T’s Investor Relations Directors managing their quarterly earnings reporting process and the positioning of AT&T’s stock to buy-side analyst. Gina has an MBA from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from St. John’s University.

Misako Manca, SoftLayer Technologies

Misako Manca has been involved with NANOG since 2009 in various capacities as part of the Marketing Working Group and the Development Committee through the NewNOG transition.  She has also helped jumpstart the NOGLab (formerly named the Vendor Collaboration Room) working closely with vendors who are able to demonstrate their product capabilities in relation to IPv6 deployment.  Through her work in the Development Committee, she has helped create Sponsorship programs that help financially support the NANOG meetings and hopes to further improve these programs which will ultimately assist in continuity of the organziation.

Misako brings 10+ years of experience in the Telecommunications and Internet services industry and currently holds a position in the Enterprise group at SoftLayer Technologies.  At SoftLayer, she manages a number of major accounts, as well as offering account management support to the 25,000+ SoftLayer customers worldwide.  Prior to SoftLayer, she has held various executive and account management positions with Ajilon Consulting, Equinix and NTT/Verio (now NTT America).

Term ends October 2012.

Misako Manca is currently Chair of the Development Commitee.

Cat Rodery, Equinix

Cat Rodery is a PMP certified Technical Project Manager in the Network Engineering department at Equinix where she has worked since 2009. Prior to that she served as network engineer at Valparaiso University. Cat has been involved in the NANOG community since 2009 and the Development Committee has been her first opportunity to give back to the community. She has a BA and MA in Japanese studies both from Valparaiso University.

Michael K. Smith, Adhost

Board of Directors Liaison

 

Michael is the CTO of Adhost Internet - a Seattle-based provider of colocation, hosting and managed services. He also serves as a technical adviso r to the Seattle Internet Exchange (SIX), and is a SANS Mentor. He has previously held senior network engineering positions at NoaNet, Semaphore Corporation and Northwest Link.

Term ends October 2012.

Valerie Wittkop, Bigwells Technology

Valerie Wittkop is a Project Manager with Bigwells Technology, AS22957. She currently manages development and network projects, peering, purchasing, and vendor relations.  Valerie has worked with the NANOG community since 2006 in various roles including support of the Program and Marketing Committees, as well as Annual Elections. She has a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Term ends October 2012.
