Main Meeting Room (General Session): The main meeting room must be at least 10,000 sq. ft. and be able to seat 500-600 attendees classroom-style. The room should be available for setup preferably on Saturday, and should then be available around the clock until the meeting adjourns (Tuesday 5 p.m. in the fall and Wednesday 1 p.m. in winter and spring.) Because of the time needed to set up/tear down the main meeting room, it cannot be used for any other function during the meeting. Tutorials and BOFs: These Sunday through Tuesday afternoon sessions generally run from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Three rooms are needed, with theatre-style seating for 250 in two rooms and 100 in the third. Beer 'n Gear Reception: This is the group's Monday evening social hour, which generally runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The room for the Beer 'n Gear should be at least 5000 square feet and accommodate 500 people, with adequate strolling space so attendees can socialize and move comfortably among vendor tables. The area should include several good-sized buffet tables, three to four bars, and tables for 8 to 10 vendors. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Office/Storage Space: A locked room for registration materials and boxes, etc., near the main meeting room. NOC Room: This space serves as a network operations center (NOC), provides work space and houses equipment used by NANOG's network engineering staff. This room should be close to the main meeting room. Registration: Built-in or designated space for meeting registration close to the main meeting room is also required Sunday through Tuesday/Wednesday (pending which meeting format prevails). Once you have established that a hotel in your area is able to hold a NANOG meeting, the NANOG staff will take over meeting coordination with the hotel.
