Root Zone Augmentation Impact AnalysisDuane Wessels, DNS-OARCPresentation Date: October 20, 2009, 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Room: Grand
Abstract: ICANN commissioned DNS-OARC to study upcoming changes to the DNS root zone (such as DNSSEC signing and increasing the number of TLDs). We studied how these changes affect zone size, response latency, start and reload times, AXFR and IXFR bandwidth requirements, and potential increases in queries over TCP.
Duane Wessels Biography: Duane is the Director of DNS-OARC, the Domain Name System Operations Analysis and Research Center.
