The presenter provides an overview of the technical similarities and differences between the two protocols, and describes the cases where one might be preferable over the other.

About the Presenter
Mr. Katz has been a software engineer at Juniper Networks since 1997. Previous to his tenure at Juniper, he was a software engineer at cisco Systems from 1992 through 1997, and worked on the NSFnet project at Merit, Inc. from its inception until 1992. He has written, rewritten, or modified the IGP implementations on the majority of routers deployed in the Internet, for which he begs the forgiveness of the audience.
