Part II

Furthering our presentation at NANOG 16, this talk will focus on the development and deployment issues of a 32-node international DPT/SRP backbone. We will examine SDH/DPT tradeoff issues, routing architectures for multi-access media backbones, and IGP and EGP constraints. A brief look at IP service integration technologies such as MPLS and optical switching will also be included.

About the Presenter
Marc Teichtahl is the Manager of Data Network Design for Versatel Telecom. Marc has been involved in network architecture and deployment for more than five years, working on projects such as IP over satellite, international backbone deployments, and facilities-based resellers. Marc is now currently responsible for all Layer 2 and Layer 3 network design and architecture for Versatel and its subsidiaries. Currently, Marc is rolling out a 32-node international OC-48 network.
