As a backbone engineer with Sprintlink, Rob Rockell deployed IPv6 first as a toy, and second as a means to provide more valued service to the research-focused segment of the Sprint customer base. Testing has been done with Cisco, Bay, Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft platforms.

Sean Mentzer's group at Qwest has been working for the last four months on setting up a nationwide v6 test network alongside the company's v4 production network. He focuses mainly on router configuration and testing.

William F. Maton is the Head of Corporate Network Services and the CA*Net 3 GigaPoP operator for the Communications Research Center (CRC) in Ottawa, Canada. William first installed an IPv6 router at CRC in September 1998 to start tinkering with the protocol, and over time has been deploying an IPv6 network for the benefit of CRC's researchers and its GigaPoP clients. William has also been rolling out dual-stacked systems for testing and operational use.

Greg Miller is the Director of Advanced Internet Technology at WorldCom. Greg's group is responsible for engineering and operating the vBNS network and for developing advanced IP services. In 1998, Greg designed and implemented a nationwide native IPv6 service on the vBNS backbone.
