• Abiding IETF Implementations will provide byte/packet counters at widths of:

  • ifSpeed <= 200 Mbps
    • 32-bit byte and packet counters
  • ifSpeed > 200 Mbps && < 650 Mbps
    • 32-bit packet counters and 64-bit byte counters
  • ifSpeed >= 650 Mbps
    • 64-bit byte and packet counters
  • Implementations may provide additional counters, i.e. 64-bit byte counters for 100M interfaces
