Since summer 2000, six hands-on workshops have been held to test drive the
DNS Security Extensions. One of these workshops followed NANOG 20. A
number of software fixes, protocol issues, and operational issues have
been identified and discussed. The presentation summarizes the lessons
learned and future direction of the DNSSEC effort.
About the Presenter
Edward Lewis began working on DNSSEC in 1996, providing Internet Drafts
and implementation experience to the various IETF working groups defining
DNSSEC. He has written the dns_signer included in BINDv8's contrib code
as well as an uncirculated "secure resolver." Recent efforts include
refining the specification documents, consulting with the implementors of
BINDv9 (chiefly Internet Software Consortium members) and conducting
workshops on DNSSEC.
