Abstract: IETF Update

Leslie Daigle, Verisign
Alex Zinin, Alcatel

The IETF's Administrative Restructuring (Leslie)
The IETF has spent the last year reviewing its overall administrative organization and developing plans for improving it. The proposal is now in the final stages of discussion within the IETF community. While the results of this effort should promote smooth administrative operation and support of the IETF, there should be no impact on its technical processes. This presentation will give a brief overview of the highlights of this process and explain that this is, fundamentally, 'business as usual' at the IETF.

Routing Area Update (Alex)
Alex will give an update on recently approved standards, and discuss efforts in newly emerging areas such as Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD), IP Fast Reroute (IPFRR), and Path Computation Element (PCE). Areas where feedback from the operational community is especially needed, as well as the actual discussion items, will be highlighted.
