- Find a local competitor who has diverse connectivity and share the cost of a T1. (Easy if you’re both in the Frame or SMDS cloud or at a local XP).
- Announce each other either:
- Always, but padded (best, requires lots of coordination)
- By request
- Only if you can’t hear them from the outside (communities-based and tricky)
- Local peering just for news often makes bandwidth-saving sense
