  • February 26, 2008, NANOG43 PC Meeting Minutes

The goal of the first call was to identify start and end times for NANOG43 in general plus daily coffee breaks, lunches, potential panels, BOFs and keynote slots to enable Merit to work with the host, sponsors and the hotel to secure appropriate space and catering commitments. A rough cut of the survey results was made available to NANOG PC members the day of the call so community feedback from NANOG42 could be considered. The CFP for NANOG43 will be released this week.

    March 20, 2008, NANOG43 PC Meeting Minutes

The goal of the second call was to identify accepted presentations, panels, BOFs, tutorials and the keynote for posting NANOG43's tentative agenda.

We accepted 14 of 25 submissions.

One submission received conditional acceptance for NANOG44 in Los Angeles, October 2008.

Feedback on conditional acceptance presentations was solicited during the call and will be sent to submitters shortly.

Presentations were pending for several abstracts at the start of the call.

Two similar panels have been combined into one thanks to the work of both submitters upon notification of similar abstracts.

The tentative agenda for NANOG43 will be released prior to April.

    April 10, 2008, NANOG43 PC Meeting Minutes

The goal of the third call was to review conditional acceptance resubmissions and any new presentations.

Lightning Talks will be accepted beginning late May.

We have two remaining slots available on Tuesday for additional tutorials.

BOFs and Panels have solidified and we are now accepting submissions for NANOG44.

The IX panel has grown to more than five panelists and there was concern regarding Monday's beer and gear hard-stop. To allow sufficient time for this panel we have swapped the Monday and Tuesday afternoon tracks.

An email inviting Newcomers to participate in the breakfast on Monday morning will be sent out approximately one week prior to NANOG43.

Presenters will be asked to load their slides onto the speaker's laptop in advance of the session track. The goal is to reduce lag time between presentations and we thank speakers for working with Merit and session leaders to make this happen. Merit may also make mention of this during the Community Meeting so NANOG44 presenters are made aware of the need to complete their presentation in a timely manner.

    April 24, 2008, NANOG43 PC Meeting Minutes

The goal of the fourth call was to make any scheduling adjustments necessary for accepted presentations, panels, BOFs, tutorials and the keynote for posting NANOG43's final agenda.

Three late submissions were approved for open slots that had been saved for late and timely submissions. A single slot remains available to be used for extremely topical material or additional lightning talks.

Presentations cannot be accepted for the general sessions without NANOG PC review of the slides. PC Members who received materials from a pending presentation have forwarded them to the nanogpc@nanog.org mailing list in years past. To prevent inconsistent reviews going forward all materials must be uploaded in the NANOG PC tool.

We have one or two beer & gear hosting slots available at present in addition to a few break slots.

We would like to thank our host, Telx, for the social event at the close of the meeting.
