Abstract: BGP# is a new route control platform, designed for data center applications that call for extremely high levels of reliability and service availability. BGP# enables the building of systems that monitor the health of data center components, and manages the data plane, through BGP, to guarantee fast failover on component failures. BGP# is written in C#; BGP# runs on commodity Windows PCs, and integrates flexibly with data center server provisioning and management systems (e.g., Microsoft’s AutoPilot) . In this talk, we discuss the motivation, design, software architecture, implementation, and performance of BGP# and associated applications. A live demo will be carried out during the talk.
