The 2021 Committee Nomination Process runs through Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Reminder, only NANOG members in good standing are allowed to serve on a NANOG committee. **If you are not a member and wish to participate in the nomination process, your membership must be received by 9:00 p.m. PST on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.**

NANOG Program Committee

The Program Committee is a group of individuals from the NANOG community who together are responsible for the solicitation and selection of material for NANOG meeting programs. The Board of Directors will select new Program Committee members after the end of NANOG 81 in February 2021.

Broad technical knowledge of Internet operations and familiarity with NANOG meetings are useful attributes. Having constructive opinions and ideas about how NANOG meetings might be improved is of high value. A willingness to recruit presentations for each meeting is required. Program Committee members are expected to volunteer a minimum of one hour per week in the 12 weeks leading up to a meeting, and an additional 24 hours all year round.

All candidates will be notified of their nomination and will be asked to accept or decline the nomination. If accepted, they will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and their Declaration of Candidacy. The Board of Directors will appoint Program Committee Members by Friday, February 12, 2021. All nominations and candidate questions must be submitted by 9:00PM PST on February 9, 2021 in order to be considered for appointment to the committee by the Board of Directors.

NANOG Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee is a group of individuals from the NANOG community who together are responsible for the annual selection of recipients for the NANOG scholarships granted in the names of John Postel and Abha Ahuja. The Board of Directors will select new Scholarship Committee members after the end of NANOG 81 in February 2021.

Scholarship Committee members are expected to volunteer a minimum of two hours per week in the months of June and July to review applications and select recipients.

All candidates will be notified of their nomination and will be asked to accept or decline the nomination. If accepted, they will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and their Declaration of Candidacy. The Board of Directors will appoint Scholarship Committee Members by Friday, February 12, 2021. All nominations and candidate questions must be submitted by 9:00PM PST on February 9, 2021 in order to be considered for appointment to the committee by the Board of Directors.

NANOG Beta Tester Volunteers Group

Individuals in the Beta Tester Volunteers Group will have the opportunity to apply their skills in uncovering bugs and usability issues to developments on the NANOG website and communications forum. The Board of Directors will select beta tester volunteers after the end of NANOG 81 in February 2021.

Beta testers are expected to spend a minimum of one hour per week poking at the functionality of new developments before being rolled out for general public use.

All candidates will be notified of their nomination and will be asked to accept or decline the nomination. If accepted, they will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and their Declaration of Candidacy. The Board of Directors will appoint Scholarship Committee Members by Friday, February 12, 2021. All nominations and candidate questions must be submitted by 9:00PM PST on February 9, 2021 in order to be considered for appointment to the committee by the Board of Directors.

NANOG Education Committee

The Education Committee will consist of 6-8 members that work to provide guidance and oversight for educational programs outside of those managed by the Program Committee aimed at professional development and supporting college students. The Board of Directors will select Education Committee members after the end of NANOG 81 in February 2021.

Education Committee members are expected to establish a regular meeting schedule sufficient to meet the objectives of the committee.

All candidates will be notified of their nomination and will be asked to accept or decline the nomination. If accepted, they will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and their Declaration of Candidacy. The Board of Directors will appoint Education Committee Members by Friday, February 12, 2021. All nominations and candidate questions must be submitted by 9:00PM PST on February 9, 2021 in order to be considered for appointment to the committee by the Board of Directors.

NANOG Mentorship Committee

The Mentorship Committee will work to develop a program designed to cultivate individuals looking to pursue careers as network professionals, providing recommendations to the NANOG Board for consideration and approval. The Board of Directors will select Mentorship Committee members after the end of NANOG 81 in February 2021.

Mentorship Committee members are expected to establish a regular meeting schedule sufficient to meet the objectives of the committee.
